Be Part of the Bigger Story

As a member of the Cheswold VFC, we are committed to providing an advanced level of service to the department and our community. The goal of all Cheswold VFC Fire is to positively and professionally impact the department while assisting in customer and community services.

When our Cheswold VFC volunteers answer the call, they are usually the first on the scene, be it a fire, accident, medical emergency, or vehicle rescue. Are you ready to write your next chapter by helping others on the worst day of their lives? If so, we have several opportunities for you to be part of the bigger story as a Cheswold VFC volunteer.

Firefighter or Emergency Medical Technician

These volunteer members respond to emergency calls and staff the station apparatus as a firefighter or EMTs. Additionally, attending training events, meetings, public safety events, and other functions are membership requirements.

Administrative Member

Cheswold VFC Administrative Members provide a “behind the scenes” role and do not staff the apparatus. Our Associate Members assist with any support tasks like:
Department leadership will explain responsibilities and requirements during the application process.

Junior Firefighters (ages 15 to 17)

With the written consent of their parent or guardian, Junior Firefighter members will learn skills essential to the fire service, leadership, and teamwork and gain new relationships in the fire service. Experienced Cheswold VFC leaders and instructors will guide youth volunteers in the fire service activities and participate in various education, training, and exercises:
